Professionally I am a Sr. Analyst\web application developer mostly doing business process analysis,
system analysis\design and coding. I like to say that I solve business process problems with technical solutions.
My career has focused on the full life cycle development of windows
and web applications (internet\intranet).
I specialize in Microsoft development
technologies, namely ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, classic ASP and VB.
I do my fair share of database programming in SQL Server 2000 & 2005, mySql, Oracle and use
Access (VBA, queries, etc.) for various tasks.
In addition I serve as an analyst and developer working with Genesys Technologies.
Genesys is a next generation Teleco solution which provides routing, IVR and call center reporting. It uses VXML, Web Services and a variety of custom tools to
provide sophisticated services to the modern customer contact center.
In addition to programming, I also have developed a fondness of creating web graphics for visually appealing website's.
Mainly I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Xara Xtreme. If you are going to be a web developer you must learn how to work
with graphics.
One of my other roles is as an architect. There are 2 goals in this role. First, I am involved with defining coding
standards, standardized methods of software development and
deployment for my company's .NET development effort. Second, I help provide perscriptive guidance about application technologies the company may be looking to employ to solve business problems.
In addition to this I am a graduate student at DePaul University in the School
of Computer Science, Telecom - Information Systems and an avid amateur photographer. I should add that almost
all of my self-study is .NET or web development orientated.

This site is built in ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, CSS the back-end database is Access (its free with my
host provider using SQL Server cost $20/month). To build many of the pages I
use a code generator that I wrote in C# and VB.NET using Visual Studio 2005. It essential generates the code for me on the picture pages, link
pages and other pages...
One of
the JavaScript tools I am prouder of is the Slide Show Viewer. Click
here for an explanation and directions on how it works. You can link to it from all of
the photo pages.
FYI... even the slide show viewer is automatically generated by the tool. I
wrote it and perfected it once. Now it is dynamically created and array driven.
While professionally I maintain sites for different organization\people this site is mainly used as a
means of posting information, pictures and experimenting with various web development techniques.

All of the pages work with the current versions of Netscape, Internet Explorer,
Firefox, Mozilla and Opera. If you have an older browser you should
upgrade.

FYI... I prefer FireFox. It's open source, provides awesome tabbed browsing,
cool extensions and impressive looking themes... Not to mention the general
coolness factor of an open source browser. Trust me you should do yourself a
favor, get familiar with FireFox and use it. Try it out you'll love it.
The absolute biggest reason to use Firefox is it is safer and not as targeted
by hackers. I.E. is a security nightmare, if you are like most people and tired of
re-basing your machine because of viruses and spyware I would switch Firefox.
When you do get it here are is a list of extensions I highly recommend:
-
Tabbrowser Preferences:
Allows you to control a number of settings for tabbed browsing.
-
NoScript:
Extra protection for Firefox. Basically blocks all scripts on a site until you
explicitly allow a domain to execute scripts. Very cool and easy to use.
-
Web Developer:
Adds a menu and toolbar with various web developer functions. One of the
coolest tools I have ever seen.
-
Forecastfox:
Allows you monitor the forecast and current weather for the zip code of your
choice. It is unobtrusive and easy to use.
-
AdBlock:
Enough said. It works like magic.
-
My Theme: The theme I prefer is called Saferfox Xpanded by mankin. It is
graphically impressive, yet scaled down so the menu and toolbars do not take up
all your screen real estate.
